How to build Fire Starters

You don't have to buy them.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoors Online: Featured Products

Supplies: a paper egg flat or a paper egg container at least two blocks of paraffin

     sawdust or woodchips

1. Use a double boiler to melt the wax.  (If you don't know what

a double boiler is, then ask your mother...or your wife.)

2.  Cut the paper flat or container into groups of 2-4 cups.

3.  Coat the bottom of the cups in wax. The wax should soak through to the inside.  Let them dry.

4.  Fill the cups with the shavings or wood chips.

5.  Fill the cups up with wax.

These fire starters should burn long enough to get even wet tender or kindling going.
